Tindora Curry

Tindora is called by many different names in India like Dondakaya,Tondale,Kundru,Ivy guard . As today is special day for all sisters , " Rakhi Bandhan ". As I stay away from India and my brothers , I thought that I would recollect my old memories with my brothers by preparing their dearie curry.

Ingredients :

Coriander seeds 2 tsp
Red chili powder 1 tsp

peanuts 1 tbsp
coconut powder 3 tbsp
chana dal 3 tsp
jeera 1 tsp
tamarind juice 2 tbsp
Oinion chopped 1 medium
oil 2 tbsp

Serves : 2

Method :

First of all, wash the tindoras and cut in long size of 4 pieces.Take a wok and heat the oil. Once it is heated, add musturd seeds. Once it is splutter, add jeera, ginger garlic paste. Then add onion and tindora at the same and fry well. After 5 mins, add turmeric, red chili powder, salt and let the tindoras cook well.
Mean time, dry roast red chili whole, coriander seeds, jeera , chana dal coconut powder, peanuts in a pan .Roast till coconut leaves nice smell. Once it is done, grind in a fine paste with tamarind juice.
Check whether tindora cooks till soft. If it doesnot soft till now add little bit water and cover with lid.
Once it is done, add paste into it and mix well and keep another 4-5 mins.
Once it is done garnish with coriander leaves and serve with chapati.
